JOB TITLE:
Case Manager, Mental Health Programs


REPORTS TO:
Mental Health Program Coordinator

SUMMARY:
Implementation of strength-based, systems-oriented community based mental health services for children, youth, adults, and families. Works with team in providing coordinated service delivery with other agencies and community groups.

HOURS:
FULL TIME - may include evening and/or weekends

SALARY:
$16 per hour, DOE

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide direct counseling and case management services in community settings
• Represent Friends of the Family at collaborative partnership meetings & relevant community meetings as needed
• Provide planning and implementation of home-based services
• Ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting for community programs/contracts


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience in direct service position at public or private child/family welfare agency or community based organization preferred
• Familiarity with child assessment tools and the Head Start program helpful
• Knowledge of local community and institutional resources needed
• Demonstrated knowledge of county and state programs that effect child welfare practices helpful
• Knowledge of child development and healthy child guidance principles required
• Ability to work with people of diverse social and cultural backgrounds with respect and tolerance
• Abundantly energetic, tireless and passionate about work in this domain
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High level case management and case reporting skills
• A balance of assertiveness and diplomacy is critical
• Strong organizational and decision making abilities
• Must be able to work and maintain self-control while under pressure or in stressful circumstance


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (writing sample required)
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook strongly desired
• Must have a car, valid CA driver’s license, proof of auto insurance & safe driving record
• Satisfactory completion of all background screening requirements

EDUCATION:
• MFT/MSW Trainee or Intern—MUST be enrolled in MFT or MSW graduate program; hours available
