JOB TITLE:
PART TIME Youth Programs Counselor/Facilitator (Male)


SUMMARY:
We are seeking dynamic, goal-driven individual with sincere desire to inspire middle school-age youth as a counselor, group facilitator and male role model in our 4Rs Youth Development Program. Successful candidate will work with a team and a female co-facilitator implementing this program in local area school(s).

HOURS:
PART TIME - 16 to 20 hrs/week (approx. 1:00p – 5:00p, M-Th)

SALARY:
$12-$15/hr

START DATE:
IMMEDIATELY

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Facilitation, coaching and case management of middle-school boys and girls development/mentoring program
• Assist with implementation of high school youth peer mentoring component
• Responsible for facilitation of life skills development groups for middle school boys and girls
• Assist in the recruitment of participants and the preparation of stimulating, enriching weekly program materials and curriculum
• Interface with site contacts to maintain high quality school & community partner relationships
• Prepare flyers, brochures and outreach material for programs
• Work with 4Rs team to provide seamless service delivery
• Contact parents about participants’ progress and/or to provide resource linkage as needed
• Complete program evaluation and accountability paperwork


EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
• AA in child development or related equivalent experience, minimum; if Masters’ level student, license eligible hours available
• Group facilitation experience
• Bilingual (English/Spanish), MUST
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience working with pre-teens, teens and young adults
• Ability to work with people of diverse social and cultural backgrounds with respect and tolerance
• Abundantly energetic, tireless and passionate about work in this domain
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and decision making abilities
• Must be able to work and maintain self-control while under pressure or in stressful circumstance
• Proficient in MS Word and other computer skills, MUST
• Valid CA driver’s license; must have a car AND current auto insurance
